On 26th July Tashi Gyaltsen the Tibet hot air balloon joined 432 other balloons above the skies of France for her first ever free flight – and in the process became part of a world record for the largest number of balloons standing in a line!

Tashi was making her first public appearance at Lorraine Mondial Air Ballons, the biggest ballooning event in Europe, which is held every two years in Chambley. She joined balloons representing 40 other nations and flew in front of thousands of spectators who warmly welcomed her to France.

Tashi flew for 90 minutes over the beautiful rolling countryside of the Lorraine region attracting huge interest from balloonists and the general public alike.
