For the second year running Tashi has appeared at the Bristol International Balloon Fiesta held from 11th to 14th August 2016. The Fiesta is one of the largest annual ballooning events in Europe attracting hundreds of thousands of people.
For the first time Tashi was invited to take part in the choreographed night glows which are the highlight of the event with 25 balloons performing a spectacular display lighting up the night sky in time with the music.
High winds prevented the balloons from flying for the first three days but on the final morning Tashi took to the air with 116 balloons and some special guests on board. Tenzin Phuntsok and Wangdue Tsering from Bristol became the first Tibetans to fly in the Tibet hot air balloon
Tashi also took part in the final sunset flight to close the fiesta.
The event generated considerable media exposure with pictures and video of the Tibet hot air balloon appearing on many news sites around the world including BBC Bristol, BBC, Guardian, Mirror, Reuters and Voice of Tibet.
